Foundry:Guide to Creating a character with Plutonium
IMPORTANT UPDATE!
The character creation tool "charactermancer" is HERE!currently limited to patreons for Giddy it makes character building fairly simple.
- This guide will cover the Default DnD5e sheet; with minimal Add-on Modules included.
- While most of the concepts of the guide apply to any sheet, the images and specific steps will not be the same for those using modules that build out Actor sheet's features, or replace the entire sheet. Time and boredom willing additional versions will be made to address community most common and most loved sheets.

Steps for creation
Assign Attribute Points
Choose a Background
- Atop the Actor's Character Sheet click upon the
Import to open the Importer Wizard. (See picture)
- Along the left side choose BACKGROUND (for more reference see the import to journal/compendium you may want to filter for limiting sources or searching for specific content.
- After specifying the source(s); Click the Open Importer button to select the background
- You may be prompted to choose between languages or proficiencies mode. (Skills/Tools you are already proficient in will have a check mark next to them (See picture)
- Nothing
- All proficiencies; Inventory items, Background Features, and money will now have been added.
- Atop the Actor's Character Sheet click upon the
Choose a Race
- Atop the Actor's Character Sheet click upon the
Import (See picture) to open the Importer Wizard. (See picture)
- Along the wizard's left side choose RACE (for more reference see the import to journal/compendium
- you may want to filter to limit sources or searching to specific/more manageable content.
- After specifying the source(s); Click the Open Importer button to select race and/or any subrace.
- A window will be opened for you to chose what attribute(s) to modify if your Races gives an option for such. (See picture)
- Your racial attribute adjustment(s); skills; Racial Traits/Abilities have been added to your Actor's character Sheet.
- Atop the Actor's Character Sheet click upon the
Choose a Class
- Atop the Actor's Character Sheet click upon the
Import to open the Importer Wizard. (See picture)
- Along the left side choose CLASS (for more information see the class import entry)
- you may want to filter for limiting sources or searching for specific content.
- After specifying the source(s); Click the Open Importer button to select the class and/or any subclasses, and the level(s) for such which will pop the (See picture)
- mark all levels you are eligible to possess, then click Import - this will then add all the Class Features and resources into your Feature tab
- You will be prompted to choose proficiency mode. (See picture)
- Assuming you're making a new character from scratch character, choose that option and you will prompted in which to choose what skills /tools to be proficient. (See picture)
- If you have any Ability Score Improvements you will prompted to choose the attribute advancement or Feat importing.
- You will then be prompted to either choose your base starting equipment... (See picture) or you can use the SHOP to buy from starting gold (which ... unless you're a monk... its a bad call) | (See picture) the store will modify your gold per purchase.
- All Hit Dice, proficiencies; Inventory items, Class Features (Active/Passive), spell slots by level defined (if applicable); some spells MAY have been added (for clerical domains or Warlock Packs - ie ones SPECIFICALLY granted as ALWAYS available) and money will now have been added.
- Atop the Actor's Character Sheet click upon the
- Please Note: If you have spell casting abilities, you will most likely need to also import spells (see below)
Buying Equipment
- Atop the Actor's Character Sheet click upon the
Import to open the Importer Wizard. (See picture)
- Along the left side choose ITEMS (for more reference see the import to journal/compendium
- you may want to filter for limiting sources or searching for specific content.
- After specifying the source(s); Click the Open Importer button to select the item(s)
- The items will be added to your Inventory.
- Atop the Actor's Character Sheet click upon the
- PLEASE NOTE: no gold will have been deducted, none of those items will be equipped. Make sure you clear all such "purchases" through the Dungeon Master. When you Equip things - that doesn't automatically (by Foundry default) add a Macro for attacks, nor effect your AC. You will want to do so now.
OPTIONAL Choose Spells
- Atop the Actor's Character Sheet click upon the
Import to open the Importer Wizard. (See picture)
- Along the left side choose Spells (for more reference see the import to journal/compendium you may want to filter for limiting sources or searching for specific content.
- After specifying the source(s); Click the Open Importer button to select the spell(s)
- The spells will be added to your Spellbook.
- Atop the Actor's Character Sheet click upon the
- PLEASE NOTE: none of those spells will have been readied, and no effect templates set. If you want to do so, you should do so now.
Assigning your Token and Avatar
- Atop the Actor's Character Sheet (See picture) click upon the to open the token. From there add your image/token image via upload or URL.
- IF YOU CANNOT: then you do not have trusted status on the server; which isn't uncommon as most people don't want random people adding images to their servers. You will want to message the GM with the image(s) you wish to use for you Character.
