Animated Omnisearch

The Omnisearch field appears on all the website pages and can be used to search across all the content - including any homebrew - and will then provide a drop-down list of options to chose from.

Instructions (How to use it)

The Omnisearch box searches the dataset's titles for matching content. It does not search the description (ie `Fluff`) text, but rather focuses upon key data fields in Monster, Items, Tables, Rules, Feats, etc. fields like title, name.
The omnisearch doesn't use operands. ie. words like and; or; and use of quotes "" are not recognized as prompts for specific fuzzy language search. The search is off keywords in the data's structure.
So searching for Magic Missle will return a result, but searching for...
You create three glowing darts of magical force. Each dart hits a creature of your choice that you can see within range. A dart deals 1d4 + 1 force damage to its target. The darts all strike simultaneously, and you can direct them to hit one creature or several.
(which is the exact text of the spell) will not return a result -- yet)
As of now, the search is keyword/fuzzy search - so just type in whatever in a concise and ACCURATELY spelled request and either click on a result or mouse over the result to bring up a hovering window (if the feature supports it). So you will need to know something about what you are looking and cannot search for things like:
"What monsters have strength less than 4?"
"magical items that are common"
or the like.

  • Shift - Locks open a popup window
  • SPACE - page down

If these features are selected they will modify the results of omnisearch
  • Include UA, etc - this will include All WoTC content (What is AL legal/RAW, all UA, Supplements such as Planeshift & Wayfarer's Guide to Eberron, Mike Mearl's "Happy Hour", Select Dragon Magazine, special D&D Beyond options, etc.
  • Include Blacklist - This overrides the black list and searches all content the site has loaded.

Clicking upon either of the < or > will move thru the pages of results generated.

Known Issues/Limitations

Looks like its perfect... (Did we miss anything?)

Nothing's here (Do you have any suggestions?)
Best Practices

Use correct spellings
Try to use the title or as much of the title of what you are looking for as possible, and in the order of what what you are most sure is accurate first.
EXAMPLE  : Dagger of Venom; would be a good search query, but venomous knife or dagger would not. It would be better to just stop at venom, and not venomous, and the search doesn't use conditionals so OR is a bad choice to use in the search field.
